SESSION DETAILS

ACROYOGA

Acroyoga includes various partner activities like partner stretches, partner drills, counterbalance, partner acrobatics and partner therapy. According to AcroYoga.org “AcroYoga combines the power of acrobatics, wisdom of yoga and compassion of healing arts.” It is not a substitute for individual practice, but more an extension to an individual practice. When two or more individuals co-create a practice it is something more than what each person can do individually. There is a shared space of support – trust – connection – kindness while co-creating shapes, flows and movements. And this is the magic of AcroYoga.

AERIAL YOGA

Vayu Yoga is a unique aerial yoga practice that provides a complete mind and body experience. The word Vayu directly translates to wind or air in Sanskrit, and Vayu Yoga is also commonly known as “Flying Yoga” as it entails the practice of yoga asanas while being suspended in silken hammocks. Practitioners are unencumbered from the weight of their bodies and are able to completely relax, stretching their spine and every muscle of their body. Practicing inverted asanas in suspension also activates blood circulation.

He is a Reiki healer as well as a Panchakarma specialist, and his speciality is a blend of traditional and modern forms of Yog. It goes without saying that he also performs vedic pujas and yagya as a part of his daily routine.

Acharya Suresh has trained many corporate clients in Delhi, including the United Nations, Nokia, Fusion, Valvoline, Tech Mahindra and Penguin.

ASHTANGA VINYASA

In this class we will work on the principles of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, on strength, flexibility and stability along with fluid movements through various asanas. The focus will be on understanding the reasons behind doing asana practice, alignment of the body and the benefits of those for our body.

The class is suitable for participants interested in healing and opening their bodies and mind. It will also prepare people who are interested in doing the Ashtanga Primary Series later.

HIMANSHI KAROL

I have been practicing yoga for the past 15 years. I am a certified yoga teacher, Mysore-style Ashtanga and Hatha. I did my training programme at IndeaYoga Mysore, Ashtanga & Hatha Yoga Shala, to further refine my skills. Under the guidance of the teachers there I received a more in-depth knowledge of Ashtanga and Hatha yoga and learned more about human anatomy and the effects of yoga on it. I have recently completed my Level II Training as well with IndeaYoga.

YIN YOGA

On the other side of activity is stillness. On the other side of control is surrender. On the other side of agitation is peace. Yin Yoga is the “other side” of the more commonly practiced active (Yang) styles of yoga. While the yang styles of yoga target the muscles, Yin yoga on the other hand targets “the other half” of the body, the deep connective tissues or the yin tissues of tendons, ligaments, fascia, bones and joints. It is a slow paced, soothing, meditative style incorporating long held passive postures. Think of it as a therapy for your joints, tissues and mind!

ABOUT ANKITA

I am a certified Yoga teacher and sound healer. I have studied Hatha Yoga at the Sivananda Ashram, Kerala and have been trained in Yin and sound healing at Rishikesh and Nepal respectively. My classes are usually a mix of both yin and yang to create a balanced flow that is both strong and energizing yet soft and calming.
