We’ve got a climbing trip and a lead climbing class coming up!
Ganeshsir is starting lead climbing classes at the gym from Friday the 23rd of September. This is suitable for anybody who’s belay certified, and wants to pick up the skills required to lead belay and lead climb safely. The lead climbing module is 4 classes, focused on: equipment used in sport lead; fitness for the added endurance required; clipping technique and practice; lead belay; communication and teamwork; rope coiling, storage, flaking and other ropework tips; quick draw placement and route planning.
Lead Climbing class is Fridays at 7.30 pm, starting on the 23rd. Cost is Rs 3,500 per month. You need to be belay certified in order to attend this, and have your own climbing shoes, harness, belay device and locking biner.
We’re off to Nainital on the evening of the 15th of September for a three-day climbing trip. Nainital is really beautiful, great climbing, so if you’re looking to get out and stretch your legs a bit, get three days of solid outdoor climbing in, please let us know. Nainital is all sport, so we’ll be doing a combination of sport lead and toprope, plus checking out their outdoor artificial wall. Pictures of the last trip are attached.
The plan is to leave Delhi on the evening of the 15th, Thursday, and return by the morning of the 19th, Monday, via bus. This is a club style trip, so you pitch in to help organise transport, logistics and group gear, and additionally pay Rs 3,000 for Ganeshsir’s help along the way. He’ll be taking folks out, and if you’re starting to find your motivation to climb flag a little, getting outdoors might be just the right thing to do.
