CONTACT IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP

Come and explore contact improvisation through a guided workshop led by Leah Raphael Curtis, director of Delhi Dance Theater and accompanied by live music.
 
This is a unique opportunity to explore listening and responding with your body. Participants will use physical contact to explore movement improvisation.
 
This workshop is open to all who want to get moving and experience something unique. If you have any kind of physical practice be it yoga, climbing, any form of dance or martial arts or just been wanting to dance this is the place to jump in.
 

ABOUT LEAH

Leah Raphael Curtis a choreographer, dancer and instructor from New York. Holding an Honors degree in Contemporary Dance from London Studio Centre, she attended the Certificate Program for Alvin Ailey and the scholarship Professional Program with Dance Theater of Harlem.

 
Through Delhi Dance Theater she has co-produced, choreographed and danced multiple performances including Not Your Mothers, Beneath the Tamarind Tree, and Brooklyn Looks East.
 
Leah teaches workshops in ballet, contemporary dance, improvisation technique and contact improvisation in India and abroad. Most recently, Leah led a tour for Delhi Dance Theater and PULSE in the North East of India.
 
This is the beginning of a new initiative to bring dance and music technique workshops and creative research and movement exchanges to artists in Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, and West Bengal. Leah divides her time between India and the United States.
