Circus Arts With Shweta

Shweta is a trained circus arts professional, and in this class teaches elements of circus, including aerial silks and handstands, to kids. For a description of aerial, please click on the Aerial tab above.

Circus Arts is about (a) learning correct form to avoid injury and be efficient (b) warming up, conditioning, stretching and cooling down to have the foundation for trying strenuous moves and (c) staying engaged and having fun with a great group.

ABOUT SHWETA

Shweta trained with Circomedia, Bristol, from 2011 to 2013, and has also received training from Mike Wright and Fons Bennink in the United Kingdom. She did her contemporary dance, jazz, theatre, acting and voice animation in India with the Padatik Dance Studio and Theatre Y from 2002 to 2010. She’s been teaching for over six years, and has done workshops in circus, dance, theatre and aerial silks in India, the UK, Australia and Mexico.

She is one of our resident aerial artists, and teaches Circus Arts for us when she’s not travelling, developing and performing her unique style of dramatic and thought-provoking circus artistry. Shweta performs on silks, rope, doubles trapeze, and has also pursued contemporary dance, clowning and acting.
