March 11th – 12th (Saturday & Sunday)
11.30 AM – 1.00 PM both days
An introduction to aerial straps, through a workshop focusing on aerial conditioning & choreography – a combination of formula & flow
[UPDATE] The workshop is full! Stay tuned to our social media for a follow up.
This 1 hour 30 mins aerial class starts with a warm-up, involving basic stretching and conditioning on the floor, followed by strength building climbs, pull-ups and inversions on aerial straps and silks.
After covering the basics and figuring out static poses, students will learn how to spin, take flight and transition smoothly from one move to the next. Depending on the participants’ level, each person will proceed to work on a small aerial sequence with a spin. Finally we’ll wrap up the session with a relaxed cool down.
By the end of this two-day workshop you will learn how to lift and move your body on the straps with grace and not get dizzy while spinning or being upside down 🙂
The aim is to learn basic aerial techniques, build upper body + core strength and find your own form of creative movement and expression on the apparatus.
This class is open to all. The idea is to have fun and create a safe space for everyone in an uplifting environment, while learning how to work with our bodies in new and unexpected ways. Your weight, gender, expertise, strength or flexibility don’t matter, the only thing that matters is your will and desire to learn something new with a spin.
Come experience the contagious energy and thrill of spinning with your feet off the ground!

– Â A water bottle (you can fill water at the gym)
– Â Clipped nails

ABOUT ISHAAN BHARAT / 0SHEEN
Ishaan Bharat is a multidisciplinary movement & visual artist, operating under the moniker of Osheen. They’re one of the few queer aerialists in India, and are currently based out of New Delhi, choreographing and producing aerial shows and performances. Their work draws inspiration from fluidity, sexuality and transformation – reimagining queer bodies and personas through a theatrical lens, often depicted in alternate worlds at the brim of collapse. Having worked in the creative industry for over a decade, they’re known for their art direction & unique approach to aerial flow, often juggling various roles as an artist.
Ishaan’s been practising aerial arts for almost 7 years now, and has trained with various movement artists & aerialists from around the world. They’ve attended Bliss Aerial Training Camp twice and performed at Bliss Circus, where they also discovered their current love for Aerial Straps – which is their primary apparatus now. Their background in dance & theatre gives their aerial practice a creative edge. When teaching they like to focus on aerial conditioning & choreography. They’ve performed at festivals, clubs & galleries, having done shows and performances in Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa and Berlin. Their recent solo aerial show ‘Last Dancer Alive’ for the opening of the India Art Fair marked their debut as an aerialist in the art world, and now they’re keen to share their practice and skill with others, while focusing on an interesting combination of formula and flow!
