The morning jam at Deer Park Start to the day wasn’t all that auspicious – people had trouble finding the spot, because they thought the GPS pin was for driving directions, not for precise location. For future reference, we should indicate that the pin is exact, and provide walking directions. Should have anticipated this! The weather was very cooperative, spot was perfect. Well shaded, lots of room for everyone. We ended up starting about 30 minutes late, people petered in. Lots of people entered from the Deer Park side, which meant about a 20 minute walk. You may think that the hula hoop is just for kids, but it’s actually a dynamic, energetic and fluid apparatus which has developed into a circus art. .
Saturday April 29th 11.30 AM – 1 PM Rs 1,000 BIO Livia Etelka began her dancing exploration at the age of four. Following a classical training in ballet until the age of 20, she developed a strong foundation that enabled her to delve into different genres, ranging from jazz, modern, african to contemporary dance. Propelled by her passion for the art of movement, she explored ways in which to utilise the body as an intricate, emotive instrument to convey and communicate.
Shweta is a trained circus arts professional, and in this workshop will teach elements of circus, including aerial silks and handstands, to kids. Key elements are (a) learning correct form to avoid injury and be most efficient (b) warming up, conditioning, stretching and cooling down to have the foundation for trying strenuous moves and (c) staying engaged and having fun with a great group.

This class will provide students with a comprehensive training program to open the expressive possibilities of the rope and develop the specific strength and techniques required for moving fluidly and effortlessly from one trick to the next. The goal of the workshop is to share, create figures/tricks, and develop your own personal style. Some rope tricks that you will learn can also be applied to silks/tissu.
