The aerial lyra / hoop is a dynamic apparatus, a circular steel ring that provides the perfect frame for your acrobatic moves. It is a great platform for fluid movements, transitions and seamless sequences, especially when spinning!

As with any aerial skill, aerial hoop requires a skilful balance of strength, stamina and flexibility, something which you will progressively work on during the class. Aerial hoop helps in honing upper body muscle groups, improving your range of motion and active flexibility.

Livia Etelka began her dancing exploration at the age of four. Following a classical training in ballet until the age of 20, she developed a strong foundation that enabled her to delve into different genres, ranging from jazz, modern, african to contemporary dance. Propelled by her passion for the art of movement, she explored ways in which to utilise the body as an intricate, emotive instrument to convey and communicate.

Aerial Silks, Rope and Lyra with Jocelynn Rudig

In this multi-apparatus workshop, we explore how to transfer lines and movement from one apparatus to another. This is a workshop directed towards flyers who want to experience a new way of moving through the air and how to dance on one apparatus and from one apparatus to another.

We fly between Silks, Lyra and Rope, learning traditional moves as well as creating our own multi-apparatus sequences. When we shift how we get from one place to another, anything can be possible!

ABOUT AERIAL HOOP

The Aerial Hoop is an extremely dynamic apparatus, being a circular steel ring that provides the perfect frame for your acrobatic moves. It serves as a great platform for fluid movements, transitions and seamless sequences, especially when spinning!

As with any aerial skill, the Aerial Hoop requires a skilful balance of strength, stamina and flexibility, something which you will progressively work on during the class. Aerial Hoop helps in honing upper body muscle groups, improving your range of motion and active flexibility.

The class will have a ratio of two people per hoop, providing sufficient time for you to get as much individualised instruction as possible.

ABOUT LARA

Lara started lessons and training in Odissi when she was seven, and then spent many years moving through tap dance, lyrical jazz and contemporary. She went on to pursue a diploma in movement arts to understand movement, learning Tai Chi, martial arts and ballet. Lara was blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the Natya Nectar Performing Arts Company, with performances utilising stimulating visual mapping to enhancing blends of classical dance forms, acroyoga, martial arts and aerial. Her recent stretch as a student was at a summer camp for Aerial Arts Circus School in Brooklyn.

The last year-and-a-half she’s been in and around Bombay, sharing and teaching her understanding of yoga, anti-gravity yoga and aerial skills.

Aerial Silks Showcase

Dasha’s students have been working hard on their silks all year, and are putting together a showcase of aerial silks pieces to demonstrate the beauty and strength of this form.

Please join us at 5.30 PM on the 3rd of April at Delhi Rock to celebrate their hard work! This is not a ticketed event, you just need to be present at 5.30 PM on Sunday to get your seat for the show.

Aerial Tricks, Transitions and Development with Isi Lumbroso

ISI LUMBROSO trains with Helene Embling at the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) in Melbourne for the purpose of act development in aerial silks. Isi has been performing and teaching in various locations throughout Australia and Israel in her 7 years of silks training, teaching all levels from beginners to advanced.
 
Having studied at NICA and with Circus Oz, Isi is insured to teach aerial silks globally and this past year has performed at various festivals and venues in Australia including Rainbow Serpent, Earthcore, Electro Swing Night and more.
